By accessing or using Symbiotic Scholar (“the Platform”), operated by Symbiotic Scholar LLC, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, with changes effective upon posting.
Symbiotic Scholar is an academic AI platform that provides researchers, graduate students, and faculty with access to a suite of AI-powered tools through a Scholar Pass subscription. Current tools in the Symbiotic Scholar ecosystem include:
The Platform is intended for academic use by researchers, faculty, and graduate students aged 18 or older.
Symbiotic Scholar offers monthly and annual Scholar Pass subscription plans (Basic, Pro, and Unlimited). Subscriptions are billed in advance and automatically renew unless cancelled. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe’s Terms of Service.
You may cancel your Scholar Pass at any time via your account settings. Your access continues through the end of the current billing period. We do not offer partial-period refunds except where required by law or at our sole discretion in exceptional circumstances.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days’ notice via email. Price changes take effect at your next renewal date.
We may offer trial periods or promotional access at our discretion. Trial access does not guarantee ongoing access at promotional rates.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to:
Scholar Pass subscriptions are for individual use only. Institutional or multi-seat licenses are available separately — contact us for details.
Your Scholar Pass grants you authenticated access to all tools in the Symbiotic Scholar ecosystem via Single Sign-On. When you launch a tool from your account dashboard, a secure, single-use token is issued to sign you into that tool automatically. Each tool site operates independently under separate terms but is governed by the same Symbiotic Scholar umbrella policies regarding acceptable use and data handling.
SSO access is tied to your active Scholar Pass subscription. If your subscription lapses, SSO launch functionality will be suspended until the subscription is renewed.

All tools in the Symbiotic Scholar ecosystem use artificial intelligence (including Anthropic’s Claude) to generate feedback, analysis, drafts, and other outputs. AI-generated content:
Symbiotic Scholar does not guarantee that use of any tool will result in any particular academic outcome, approval, or publication.
You retain full ownership of all content, documents, and data you submit through the Platform or any connected tool. By submitting content, you grant Symbiotic Scholar a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely to deliver the requested service.
The Symbiotic Scholar Platform, all connected tool sites, their designs, AI methodologies (including HAIST©, PRISM©), and software are owned by Symbiotic Scholar LLC. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Symbiotic Scholar LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform or any connected tool, including:
Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total subscription fees you paid in the 90 days preceding the claim.
Your use of the Platform is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data.
Either party may terminate your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately for violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, chargebacks, or other conduct harmful to the Platform or other users. Upon termination, your right to access the Platform and all connected tools ceases immediately.
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Connecticut.
